The Libella Seat Basic is based on the Libella Seat Varia system and is available in a wide range of sizes. It is assembled in two basic variants - classic straight and slightly contoured. The variants are assembled from the most commonly used components to suit as many wheelchair users as possible without individually customising and configuring the seat. For each variant, two types of 3D printed parts are available at the back of the seat cushion for individual preference - yellow for added rigidity and stability and white for maximum lightness.
How is Libella Seat Varia designed?
- Lightweight, durable and strong carbon sandwich base helps maintain the shape of the seat cushion and ensures that its features and settings do not change during use. With hole in the back to relief seat bones and coccyx.
- 3D printed parts assembly. Front part made of green parts = medium stiffness and back part in yellow = soft stiffness. The inserts under the seat bones are white = softest stiffness. The area around the inserts comes in both yellow and white for individual adjustment.
- A thin layer of 3D fabric as a transition between the 3D parts and the latex layer provides additional wear protection for the inner parts and allows for better weight distribution.
- Soft anti-bedsore foam latex layer with five ergonomic cut-outs in the most common decubitus areas. The layer increases thermal comfort, its perforations promote air circulation and wick away moisture.
- Superior functional 3D breathable fabric cover that fits tightly, distributes pressure and does not bunch. Combined with the mesh base, it allows air to flow through all layers of the cushion. The cover comes in black color with a handle for easy handling of the cushion.
Available in two basic variants:
The picture shows two variants of the seat cushion, which differ in the assembly of the 3D printed layer.
Option A - all 3D printed parts are straight without contouring. It is a completely flat seat cushion with a basic height of the 3D printed layer of 22mm, it does not provide any postural correction, the main purpose is to be used for activities without the need for correction (repetitive activities of everyday life with significant body movements - gardening, housework, light sports, etc.) or for people who do not require seat correction and are comfortable with a flat seat cushion.
Option B - the outermost 3D printed parts and the front middle part are made in a slight contouring of the 3D printed parts to allow for a more stable sitting position and to keep the joints in a functional position. We do not recommend use for repetitive everyday activities with significant body movements where blisters may occur through the contouring of the seat cushion (at your discretion and experience).
The product allows you to choose the stiffness of the parts in the middle back zone of the seat cushion - the risk area of the seating parts (around the seat bumps and the tailbone) from two variants - basic yellow and even softer white. The parts are easily replaceable and can be used permanently or changed in the seat cushion according to need and activity.
Who is the Libella Seat Basic for?
We have developed the Libella Seat Basic primarily for wheelchair users of different types (mechanical and electric) and settings with a risk of developing decubitus in the seating area.
The seating system is designed for wheelchair users with various diagnoses (spinal cord lesions - paraplegia, quadriplegia, etc., Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy, Multiple Sclerosis, lower limb amputations, etc.) in the home and normal daily environment.
